New Recreational Aviation Flying Training School opens at Jindabyne Randall Community Aerodrome!
On 02 May 2012, Martin Hughes, ex-RAF pilot and flying instructor, opened his new flying school, Alpine Aviation Australia (AAA), at Jindabyne Randall Community Aerodrome. Equipped with the Jabiru J120-C two seat trainer, he offers Recreational Aviation Australia (RA-Aus) pilot training, conversions and BFRs. The Jabiru is also available for hire to suitably qualified and endorsed pilots. During the last six months of 2012, Martin has sent AAA's first student solo, conducted several BFRs and Trial Instructional Flights and has other students engaged in flying training and/or conversions. Jindabyne is an excellent operating base. The airfield boasts good hangarage and is well-maintained.
It has an active Aero Club that welcomes all visitors. There are plans in place to build a new Clubhouse that will incorporate briefing rooms, lounge, kitchen and rest rooms. The magnificent panoramic views over the mountains and lakes add to the enjoyment of flying from this airfield which is also situated only minutes from the south coast.
Due to the nature of the business, Martin is not always at the airfield during normal business hours, nor necessarily over every weekend. Weather and/or student and instructor availability determine attendance. As such, if you are interested in flying or require further information on AAA's activities, please phone Martin on 0405 209 685.
